Dermal Fillers Q&A

Posted on November 27, 2020 Categories: Uncategorized

Q. What are Dermal Fillers?
A. Dermal Fillers are made with hyaluronic acid which is a substance naturally found within the body. Hyaluronic acid is a gel like substance with different levels of thicknesses to target different areas of the face. This is used to plump, contour and hydrate and can improve the signs of ageing.

Q. Are Dermal Fillers permanent/how long do Dermal Fillers last?
A. Dermal Fillers are not permanent. Thickness, brand of Dermal Filler and your own metabolism is a factor when choosing the right product. Each brand/type has their own approximate longevity, and this will be discussed with you at your consultation.

Q. Can anyone have Dermal fillers?
A. A thorough consultation will be carried out prior to any treatment taking place. This ensures that medically you are safe to have Dermal Fillers. This will include a discussion regarding your medical history to ensure it is safe for you. If you pass the medical questionnaire, anyone can have Dermal Fillers ( if you are over the legal age of 18).

Q. Am I too old for Dermal Fillers?
A. Dermal Fillers are known for their antiageing qualities. The hyaluronic acid triggerscollagen in the skin and will rejuvenate the treated areas. This means that anyone over the age of 18 can have them.

Q. Will the Dermal Filler be noticeable?
A. Depending on the amount of product you have will depend on whether it will be noticeable . I strongly believe that only you should know that you have had any treatments done. The amount of product necessary to treat a targeted area will be discussed at your initial consultation.

Q. Do Dermal Fillers hurt?
A. It can be a little painful which is normal. A topical numbing cream will be used first for around 10 15 minutes prior to starting the treatment. This will ensure that most of the pain is reduced. Most of the products I use have the numbing agent ‘Lidocaine’ in them (if you do not have an a llergy to Lidocaine if you do, a Lidocaine Free filler will be used). You can expect after the treatment to experience some swelling/bruising. This can last up to 2 weeks however you will be provided with full after care to minimise this from happening.

Q. What should I look for when choosing an Aesthetics Practitioner?
A. It is important that you ensure the following when choosing your Aesthetics Practitioner –

certificates of training)
