There are many treatments available for wrinkles however the most popular is Anti-Wrinkle Injections. Botulinum Toxin Type A is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium ‘Clostridium Botulinum’ which shares similar properties with the commonly known treatment, Botox®. Botulinum Toxin is injected by a micro-fine needle and once injected into the muscle it functions by blocking a neurotransmitter in the body. This leads to temporary muscle paralysis.

Over time new growth of nerves will re-innervate the muscles regaining muscle movement. Botulinum Toxin can last up to 6 months. Anti-Wrinkle Injections are mainly used in the upper part of the face including the frown lines (Procerus and Corrugator Muscles), the expression lines (Frontalis Muscle) and the crows feet around the eyes (Orbicularis Oculi Muscle).

However, Botulinum Toxin is not just used to treat wrinkles. It can be used to treat bags under the eyes, bunny lines (the lines around the top of your nose), a nose tip lift (to lift an overhanging nose), a gummy smile, facial slimming, neck treatments and excessive sweating.
